Zhu Zheng (朱正, formerly 朱政 / Rowan Z), born in Chongqing in 1989, is a director, writer, director of photography, film editor and colourist. Working in film and television since 2008, his practice spans television documentaries, narrative shorts, online-release films, brand films and large-scale events.
Beginning with daily documentary programmes at Chongqing Television, he later worked on productions broadcast by Jiangsu TV and CCTV-9, and released on Youku and iQIYI. His experience covers story planning, writing and filming through editing, colour grading and delivery.
Alongside filmmaking, he maintains an interest in calligraphy, painting and crafts, with experience in art auctions, exhibition curation and artist interviews, and ongoing study of production design, photographic aesthetics and cinematic colour grading. He currently serves as Vice President and Secretary-General of 重庆中国诗书画研究会, and is a member of 重庆影视文学学会.

Creative approach
Realism meets genre: urban and social subjects, psychological suspense and character arcs, bringing documentary methods into narrative filmmaking.

Performance and collaboration: directing professional actors and non-professional performers, with a focus on efficient, multi-role collaboration in compact production teams.

Founded 重庆镜哥哥影视传媒有限公司 (Chongqing Jinggege Film & Television Media), serving as legal representative, executive director and CEO. Its work encompasses television and film production, planning and consulting, painting production and exhibition curation. Also worked on the district tourism campaign films and《三生有幸》.

Created《蚂蟥》《小丑》and the Guotai Plaza brand film; served as overall director of the Crazy Caribbean CPK Electronic Music Festival.

Made the iQIYI-exclusive documentary《候鸟》and the narrative short《最后的华尔兹》.
